Arjan and Esmeralda Vasha, co-owners of Alda's Diner, bring an all-American breakfast-lunch concept to the restaurant space on the southwest end of the Mission Hills shopping center. The 2,500-square-foot apartment "We changed everything inside, beginning with the booths, and it looks brand new."
The Vashas previously owned and operated Railhead Café & Catering at VillageWalk of Bonita Springs, as well as a restaurant in Michigan. The name Alda's is derived from the diner's matriarch, Esmeralda Vasha's nickname and shortened form.
The new restaurant serves scratch-made diner fare from morning to mid-afternoon and serves breakfast and lunch all day. Breakfast items at Alda's include omelets, skillets, pancakes, waffles, and crepes. For lunch, there are hamburgers, gyros, pitas, and sandwiches to choose from.
